Location: California | My husband just received his first orders in the Navy for San Diego. I have 20 days, actually less, to find a place for 3 horses and to some how afford this move, find a horse, and pay for it all. I may possibly be completely freaking out. I feared getting California, I quite frankly don’t know HOW I’m going to afford horses there. Leaving them behind is not really an option, I don’t have anyone to leave them with that I trust. |

| Sun Coast Farms is the cheapest I know of. And by that I mean cheap for the area. Full care is $400/month. Board is INSANE here in the golden state. Maybe check to see if there is something available to military families? Vandenberg had/has a stable specifically for families stationed there. |

I would board in the Ramona area just east. Lots more reasonable. I can give you some names to call if you need it. I am more north, but run barrels down there frequently. |

| When we lived in SD, we lived just west of Poway. We loved that area [and the traffic wasn't as bad out there either). We spent most of our time in the Poway and Lakeside area with our horses. There are some affordable farms out that way. |

Location: CA | I also recommend the Lakeside/Ramona/Poway areas, or even Jamul. |

I would appreciate any and all help honestly! I’m terrified I’m going to pick somewhere that only looks good from the outside! With one horse with lameness issues, one with PSSM2, and another that’s ulcer prone I really can’t afford landing in a place that won’t follow through on the care side! |

Location: Texas | There are stables on Pendleton and plenty of areas surrounding that offer boarding. Many people will discount for military spouses. I have a lot of friends with horses that are still in over in California. If you need any help at all, let me know and I can see what I can do for you. |
