| We still did coffin bone injections because they provide more "immediate" relief where as the OSPHOS takes longer to kick in. My vet told me the OSPHOS "should" prolong the life of any joint injections.
I would think it'd be dependent on each horse's situation and pain/lameness level at the time. |

Location: cincinnati, oh | older horse, has navicular bone degeneration from age. Just curious if joint injections (hocks or stifles) were still something that should be done? No head bobbing lameness or anything of that nature while on Osphos. |

"Should".......personally think that is up for debate.......
I had no success with OSPHOS........a waste of money for me......I prefer to inject. |

Location: Minnesota | We also injected the coffin while we waited for the Osphos to kick in. So far so good alrhough I am curious to hear other peopls stories on this. Ours isnt navicular yet per the vet just some minor change to the difinitive line in the navicular bone. I think the biggest change that helped out gelding was his farrier. Rocky was just purchased and I knew he needed hoof work but not to the extent he did. His coffin bone was flat. There was no degree to it at all. He's had some time off and were working straight lines now. |

Location: SW New Mexico | My high maintenance horse, Brother Dave..had a reaction to the Osphos shots within minutes... shaking his head and grinding his teeth..
Thankfully.we were still at the veterinarian's clinic...so after a hour on the walker..he seemed fine..
**sigh***

Location: cincinnati, oh | I've had good results with the Osphos. This is her second time receiving the shot. First shot was 9 months ago. She is 18 and been hauled a zillion miles in her career. Super gritty. I just want to make sure I am doing all I can to keep her feeling and competing at her best. I was just curious if others still inject hocks, stifles, etc after Osphos or if the Osphos seems to cover the full spectrum in older horses? |

Osphos will definitely help with navicular if the navicular soreness is due to a boney problem. If itβs due to a soft tissue problem itβs not likely it will help. |

I agree. That's why it was put in quotations. Just like everything else, what works for one, doesn't always work for another. |

| Osphos may prolong injections but you will probably still have to do hocks and stifles at least once a year or I have anyway |

My best rodeo horse had Osphos Aug. 14 and showed pretty significant improvement on a lameness re-check Sept. 10, but the spurs on his navicular bone were so bad the vet suggested we give him another 30 days before putting him back to work in hopes of seeing even more improvement as the drug is supposed to have max effect in 60 days. |
