Who hauls with a stock/combo instead of a traditional slant load trailer? Pros/Cons? Preferred brands? Just curious as I am thinking about trading my slant for one in the future.

When I was on the rodeo trail, making many miles, I hauled with a stock trailer, my mare would always turn around and ride backwards. She much preferred that over the slant load, which I had later.

My parents hauled us to jr and hs rodeos in one, and it worked really well for our family for about 10 years. It had 10ft lq, 5ft midtack and a 15ft stock area with one floating cut gate. We could move it to wherever suited us each trip whether we needed it to separate a full load of four horses, or move towards the front to load hay, grain, etc and put the horses on the back. Maybe check out Twister? They have some neat layouts I have seen and are good trailers. I think that's the only negative, is that you don't see many quality brands for sale used.

I have a stock combo and love it! I have a Sundowner Rancher TR, ordered it custom so I could get a couple features that didn't come stock. It was very reasonable and has held up great. The horses travel well in it, there is plenty of air flow.

We had one we never should have sold. We’ll be in the market again in the spring as we need a second trailer since we are more often heading in opposit directions anymore and staying overnight. It was an Exiss that my husband and his dad put many miles on.

I just bought my first stock combo last summer.  Has the LQ, mid tack, cut gate.  My horses really seem to like it better.  I have a mare that somedays she'd decide to be a butt about loading.  She's never refused since I bought this trailer.  Mine is an Exiss.
