I’ve done 4 but haven’t done any at their ranch. I’m not sure about now but they used to not limit the number of people in the clinic. They just never seemed very one-on-one because of the amount of people. One clinic I went to I was having a specific problem and they did help me with that. I like their clinics but if your wanting lots of one-on-one work I would suggest someone that limits their entries to 10 or so.

I took my daughter to one about 3 years ago and found it to be excellent. They have worked with so many horses over the years and have experience fixing all kinds of problems and I found this to be really beneficial. They watched my daughters run and knew exactly what needed fixing. They explained it to her and then from that point on they specifically worked on those issue with her. She was 12 at the time and she easily understood everything they were telling her.

They did have a lot of people there and at first I was concerned that she might not get enough attention but with the three instructors she was never overlooked and she got plenty of saddle time. They were very positive to all of the students, even the ones who "knew it all already".

They started out friday evening with a run. Saturday morning they split into groups and rotated between instructors. Some watched their videos from Friday. Some worked the pattern, and some worked poles. They did a portion on basic horsemanship (you would be surprised how many needed this) and then they did some speeches on fitness, health, hauling, equipment etc. I will say they had bits and other stuff for sale but never once pushed anything on us. Matter of fact I didnt even see them change bits that much. They mainly just made proper adjustments to what everyone had. Sunday they had a really nice church service then did the same as Saturday but in shorter sessions. Sunday ended with a final run and awards.

Over all I was very pleased and found it to be an excellent clinic. People say its a basic clinic but I watched some pretty "advanced" riders learn stuff too over that weekend. My daughter  was exhausted from the weekend but left with a new confidence in herself and her horse. The improvement was huge and I found the clinic to be worth every penny.

We went to one years ago and it was awful. There were over 75 people there and no one on one it was just an assembly line. Hopefully, they are better now.

I did one about 6 or 7 years ago. Overall I liked it but there were too many students, about 55, and I felt like Ty, his wife and Gary were in a rush to get thru the drills to keep everything on schedule. Would have been better if we could have gotten more then 15in min of personal attention.

Nothing better than a Josey Clinic.  All of ours has been at the ranch.  Have been in clinics with 90.  They divide everyone up into four different groups so that's about 22 per group.  You get more than enough saddle time and a lot of individual attention.  If you need something or have a question just ask.  Never seen a better group of people.  The Best!!

Ive never been to one but my best friend went to one recently and loved it. She said to not take a finished horse or they will get bored easy. I know another lady thats pretty accomplished back home went and said she wouldnt go to another. It was to repetitious for her horse. I think if your a young or newer to barrels rider, its a great clinic but if your wanting one on one, then its not for you. But hey thats my 2 cents.

Personally I prefer Paul Humphrey and his Breaking the Mold drills. He limits how many people can ride and you get alot of 1 on 1 time. Especially if your having problems. He works until there is progress. Ive hosted 2 clinics for him and been to 2 others. I can still send him a video or call him and say hey Im feeling this, can you tell me what your seeing. And he will.
