I tried a couple Charmayne James saddles over the weekend. When I went back to return the Martin, the store had a Reinsman CJ wide fit so I figured I would see if it fit. I also got a hold of a used Cactus CJ, regular tree to compare the two. The first set of pictures is the wide Reinsman and the second set is the Cactus regular. I am was able to ride in the Cactus so I also including sweat mark pictures. Additionally, I am including pictures of how each saddle measures. I contacted Reinsman and was told the wide is a 7" gullet.

The CJ is too wide, dumps in the front, which causes the back to stick up.
The 2nd one doesn't look too bad. The sweat marks don't look terrible either. That's the one I'd go with if it has to be between those 2.

I like the cactus fit better. Looks more level. Reinsman does use the same tree as the cactus, just different saddle maker. I have a cactus wide CJ and the Reinsman CJ wide. Both same tree. Fit the same! I sure like how the cactus looks on your horse

Thank yall! Thats what I was thinking also, just wanted to confirm. While I know the Cactus may not be exactly perfect I think it's pretty close to where we need to be for now. When I rode in it I felt comfortable and didnt feel like I was being thrown forward. I will just have to get used to a little flatter seat than I am used to. But obviously that is not a deal breaker. I can adapt. I'm going to check her today for any soreness just to be sure. I already found a Cactus on facebook I want to buy so I was hoping you guys liked the fit lol.

I agree with the Cactus being a better fit
