Stock Trailer Floors

Recently, I won't say we "upgraded" but my husband and I "up-sized" to a 20ft tarp top Gooseneck stock trailer. I LOVE it, except, the wooden floors get so slick! It's completely open so hay and shavings blow right out. Would mats help? I've seen people tack down livestock panels for cows but I feel like that would not be comfortable for my barefoot horses. Any suggestions?

We had to put mats down on our floor. They're a pain to move to clean under so I only get to it like 2, maybe 3 times a year.
I buy the shavings that come in tiny pellets expand....it doesn't make for a thick layer but it's the only thing that doesn't fly out....maybe others will have better suggestions there.

Mats would help.
It would be an investment but they can put down the rubber polylast style floors over wood as well. I have it over my aluminum floor and love it. Wish we had it in my FILβs stock trailer.
They do make some paint on products for like wooden decks and such for non-slip. They work for people but Iβm not sure how effective theyβd be for a horse? Makes for kind of a sandpaper like texture.
