We are looking at a vacation property on the Lake of the Ozarks.  It is a good sized, 3 BR condo with pool, boat slip.  Being from Minnesota and having lived on a beautiful lake there, I’m curious as to how it would compare.

I think the Ozarks is too overcrowded and commercialized. I have avoided it for years.

I like Table Rock Lake in Mo. and Grand Lake in NE Ok. a lot better

They are not much farther away, actually they would be a little closer. I was thinking Mn.

I was wondering about that as well.  I’m sure it gets busy during peak season, but they say it’s not crowded at all beyond September.

The reason we are looking at Lake of the Ozarks is mainly because my brothers-in-law and sister-in-law all own condos there and love it.  My 3 kids are married and in MN/ND and Carol’s daughter and family live in Iowa.  We think it would be a good place for bringing the kids/families together.

Its a madhouse for boating,  100+ MPH boats and pleasure boats running all over.

  Do a search on youtube.

And if I remember correctly you have to fly into KC and rent a car from there and its a pretty long drive. 2-3 hours maybe??

I used to go as a kid and haven't been in years. I agree with the others....dangerous beating at times, can be really over crowded and I remember the water being gross several times that we stayed.

Table Rock Lake is really pretty!

Thanks for the comments, everyone.  We might have to take a step back from this and really look a lot closer.
