Location: Arkansas | Tomorrow Dan will have been gone 1 year, and all that's been going on in our lives the past few weeks is really bringing it to the forefront. Just wanted to post a few pics of my Doodlebug
The first 2 pictures--Chandler was 2 1/2 and Dan 21. In the others, Dan was 35. He was simply worth his weight in gold to me. . . .

| Aww . . First, hugs to you for going through the 1 year loss anniversary. Second, in all the best ways he looked like a big goober child! Totally the horse we all hope to find at least once in our lives!! |

He was a mess! If you look at the pics, his tongue is always out. His front teeth were kicked out when he was a foal, and as he got older, his tongue always hung out! Even Chandler's friends joked about Dan and his tongue. . . |

Yes mam it did. . . When I was going thru my divorce and would go to the barn for comfort, he'd rest his head on my shoulder and drool all over me. I always felt better after that drenching. . . |

Location: Kentucky | I know exactly what you are going through. I lost my beloved mare almost two years ago. I still cry almost daily. She was my heart. I had her since she was almost a yearling. She passed away at 28 years. She helped me get through some dark times in my life. I probably wouldn't be here now, if it wasn't for her. I'm crying now as I type. So you are not alone. ((((huggs)))) |

I bet the stories all of us on here could share would keep us up all night laughing and crying. God certainly blessed us not only with the horses themselves but also our love and special relationships with them. I feel sorry for people who don't have that in their lives. |
