Wanting to pick brains of those that ride treeless saddles about cinches and pads that you are using with them, the saddle brand of treeless you use and what saddle fit issues you were having that maybe had you go the treeless route.

I have a Tammy Fisher Treeless. I use a neoprene shoulder relief cinch in either a 26" or 28" length (I can't remember), with a treeless the cinch will be shorter than a traditional saddle. I currently use a Reinsman pad specifically for treeless saddles. I also, have ridden in a SPH and 5 Star pads with no issue. I cant use a pad over 3/4" thick.

Currently I am using a Thinline pad with the full length shim ( I forget what they call it) and a bridging shim. My horse is built down hill and the treeless with this combo seems to work for her. I use a 26" CE neoprene girth. For trail riding and everyday riding I use the Reinsman swayback pad.

I have previously used either PC or CE pads and a roper girth, again either PC neoprene or the CE Sensor Flex.

A Y cinch of some sort to really keep the saddle in place and an impact gel pad

I use a 5 star treeless pad and had a custom mohair cinch made, I ride cowponies mostly so I needed a 24 inch, was having trouble finding a quality "pony" sized cinch lol. 

I've never had any fit or slipping issues and use this combo on 2 cowbreed thick wide horses and 1 race breed very TB bulit young mare. 

5 star 7/8" pad, neoprene girth 26" or 28" 

i use a diamond wool 1/2" pad and also you a back cinch

My niece bought a weaver pad and so far I've liked it better with the treeless than my 5 star and CSI. Plus it was cheap! She uses a neoprene cinch - nothing special.

For those that are riding a treeless, were you having saddle fit issues and if so what were they ?  I started having issues last spring, found the saddle I had been riding him in since he was 4 was bridging on him, he was 17 last summer.  He is appendix bred, large shouldered and with aging he had lost some top line.  Not only did I work on trying to rebuild some topline on him, I had the saddle checked to make sure the tree wasn't broke or twisted . It was not.  So just trying to figure a few things out for him. I've tried different padding options but I'm not thrilled with any of them as of yet hence the search for treeless information.

I ride in a Tammy Fischer Treeless and I LOVE it! I switched to it because I was having saddle fit issues with my Circle Y treed saddle. When I had the chiropractor out while I was using my treed saddle, my gelding was becoming very back and wither sore. I switched to a Tammy Fischer and a month later had my chiropractor out, and he was not sore at all in his withers or back. I have two 5 star pads, a 1in and a 3/4 in, and a 1/2 in Cactus pad. I love all three pads, but I love the Cactus pad the best, it really conforms to him. In a treed saddle my gelding wore a 34in cinch, and with my treeless I use a 28in shoulder relief cinch, and switch between the fleece liner and the felt liner. I have never had any issues with my treeless slipping. I'm not sure I could go back to a treed saddle now, I love my treeless!!

We switched my neices horse due to fit issues. She is an OTTB with a past neck injury therefore, poor topline, big wither. We switched to the Circle Y treeless because it has a bigger peak for her wither and so far eliminated back issues 1.5 years now.
