Nevertooold - 2015-03-04 2:59 PM Walmart allows RV's to park over night at the Walmart's around us.

Here too, in fact I think that Wal-Mart invites them to stay overnight.

Also wanted to add that this particular Walmart your friends parked at have staff that walk the lot watching for people that park, get out, get a cab and leave. They immediently call a wrecker from the parking lot.

BMW - 2015-03-04 2:38 PM My friends were running late due to it taking longer to get there because of the nasty weather. Unfortunately, they didn't see any sign saying not to park there until it was pointed out to them after the rodeo. Their local Walmart allows overnight parking and many RVers use it. If it wasn't a racket why were there several cabs waiting to take people to get their impounded vehicles? In the Walmart parking lots where parking isn't allowed I doubt they call a wrecker to come haul it off.

It isn't Walmart's racket  The taxis are just being smart because so many people have called in the past.  There are 8957348957 signs.  They had to just be not looking at all.  The RV parking usually has to do with City codes.  Some Cities do not allow RV parking ie OKC  So it isn't walmarts fault.  They need to keep their parking lot they bought and paid for open for their customers

barrelracer1983 - 2015-03-04 1:36 PM It doesn't matter where you go but IMO, I think people abuse Wal-Mart parking lots. RV's park there so they don't have to pay for a plug. People park cars there to sell them. It's a mess. Here anyway. I know, kindo OT, just wonder if that's why it said no parking. Back on the topic, when I go to racetracks for NASCAR races, it doesn't cost a thing to park!

As a motorhome owner we thoroughly appreciate that most Walmarts and all Cracker Barrels allow us to park at night on our trips across the country.  We almost always buy something or a lot from Walmart when we stop there at night.  We usually don't hang out for longer than 6 or 7 hours and it is at night and we are gone before 7am.  Also, we don't like to plug in anywhere whether it's Walmart or a barrel race.  We just run our generator.  There are certain cities that do not allow parking at Walmart and that is usually the city ordinance not Walmart's wishes. Just FYI....

We paid to park at the Stadium.  We parked close to the entrance where our seats were.  We left about 15 minutes after it was over and were on the highway in 15 minutes.

Exact same here:) Parking opened at 10. We got there at 11 and were on the 2nd row. I thought parking was efficient in and out.

Went to an event there, paid for parking from an established business, received a "permit/parking slip", put it on the dash like we were told to, parked where we were told...and the vehicle was towed. Come to find out tHey have people trolling the parking lots looking for "supposed violators", they then mark the car with a marker, call a wrecker waiting close by, and then poof...the vehicle is gone. We had to get the front end re-aligned, and there was damage done to the front bumper. Only received compensation for the tow ($300) and for taxi from the place we bought the permit...damage from the tow was never recovered.

The tow companies are cutthroat and the only way to combat them is to literally take them to tow court (hard to do when you are 10hrs away)

I thought for that many people the parking and "back on road" times were great

Thousands of people choose to spend the night in Walmart parking lots each year. Some are passing through town and realize they can save a buck by not booking a hotel. Others have a less of a choice and are there because they have nowhere else to go. Through it all, the hosting of overnight guests is fine by Walmart, in most locations. One writer referred to it as a kind of urban campground. All walmart employees using Walmart one portal.
