My 7 year old gelding is narrow and has a flat back. I’ve been told that a Caldwell maxed out had the right bar angle since they’re flat but I feel it was too wide and a saddle fitter said that he’s so narrow that a 5.5 inch gullet would probably fine for him and she threw a cactus (I think a CJ) and said it was too wide. I looove Caldwell’s but at this point I want to find any good quality barrel saddle that fits him. Any suggestions?
Call Charon at Caldwell, but the Pro Racer should for him - that’s the narrow tree with the flat bars. You should be able to find one at a reasonable price too, as horses generally grow out of this tree quickly.
Thank you for your help!
just wondering if you have found a saddle yet? If not do you have any pictures of this horse you can show us so we can see for ourselfs how flat his back is?
