Looking to cross a cow horse bred mare (San Tule Freckles on top and Smart Little Lena on bottom) to a barrel stallion for a prospect in the years to come. I believe there is something about growing your own and seeing what the future holds. What are your top picks? My top 5 (in no particular order) are Shawne Bug Leo, Woodbridge, Best advice, Lions Share to Fame and Eddie Stinson. Any pluses or minuses to these stallions? Suggestions

I saw some colts coming along by a stallion, Sun Frosted Rocket.  They were pretty impressive.

Those that you listed are all good choices.  I'll add No Pressure On Me and Dashin Dynamo.

I'd go with Eddie of the choices you listed.

I know nothing about who to cross her with, but I love her breeding--she should eat a cow up!

The Eddie’s tend to be a little tougher to get around than most. Woodbridge tends to throw really rapid growing colts. Neither are deal breakers in my book. But both are things to keep in mind.

Can you expand on tough to get around? Thank you

She was well on her way, then the trainer screwed her over majorly. Her foals have turned out to be nice on cattle. She is the least bred cow horse I have but the one who has the build to produce a barrel prospect. Fingers crossed for something incredible.

They put up a fight when you first start them. But if you are smart enough to work through it without blowing them, they work out of it and develop a work ethic pretty quick.

I would definitely put some run on her. Your selections are all nice stallions. SBL is on my short list. But he crosses the best on race bred mares in my opinion. The few Eddie Stinsons I have been around are fast but hot. Best Avice is nice and will give you plenty of run - same with Woodbridge. A close friend of mine bred her all cow bred mare to A Dash Ta Streak and I have been so impressed with the resulting filly. She is NICE! https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/famous+little+fling

Here is a picture of her:

Breed to a stallion that conformationally fits your mare best.

I bred one of my driftwood mares to Eddie. He is far from hot. Fast he is, but hot, not at all. His owners love him.
