| Unfortunately what I disliked the most about posting my horses for sale on BHW were allllll the scammers. Here are two telephone numbers of scammers I've received in a few days of posting my ad!

| Huh. Douglas gets around! Wanted to buy a trail horse from me for 3x my asking price, for my "trouble." If I remember right, he wanted the horse shipped to Philadelphia! When I blocked him, he got a new number, so beware! |

| Never accept a "no questions asked" check from anyone who hasn't even seen your horse, your car, your truck, your trailer, your refrigerator. Anywhwere you post an ad with your phone number, they can text you. |

Location: Oakdale, CA | well if that bothers you wait till you encounter the people that want to buy your horse in person negotiate a price ask how to spell your name for cashiers check and never hear from them, or ask alot of questions, negotiate a price start looking for haulers and then 3 days later change their mind................I would much rather deal with scammers cause they are so **** obvious........................... |

Location: Missouri | I know it was a scammer but first of all.... I REALLY STINKING HATE when people start a conversation with 'what's the least you'll take?' Don't do that. Make a reasonable offer that you're willing to pay. |

Location: Oklahoma | They are creative using text these days. I respond to them that I only accept a wire transfer or cash and that shuts them up or they try to insist on a cashier's check and I just stop responding. |

I can't remember exactly, but he sent me a check for 5,000. The horse was listed for around 1500. I was supposed to pay his hauler, and then I could keep all the rest. It was weird. The bank said it was a fake check. I almost forgot about it until I saw how he typed his reply. People |

Location: North Dakota | I have made this suggestion to BHW ads before, but they would remedy a lot of the scam emails if they would make a simple "confirm you are not a robot" before they can email you. Could work the same before showing the phone number. Having emails and phones number in "plain view" like that make it very very easy for computer programs to scan and then you start getting scam emails and calls/texts. Heck, when I contacted BHW to make that suggestion, guess what? I had to confirm I wasn't a robot. |

| We don't post emails and phone numbers on our horse ads. We put that information behind a sign that says, "Email Seller a Question". You have to read that and click on it to get an email and phone number. What this does is eliminate many garden variety bots out there scanning for phone numbers from static pages. The "proof you're not a bot" will not eliminate real people trying to scam you. We are always open to ideas. |
