I have a FG daughter that is out of a DTF mare. She is built like a tank, only about 14.3, and conformationally correct. She is quiet minded and is currently clocking 1d/2d locally. I want to flush her this year and am trying to decide on a stud. Who would you breed her to? I have been considering Tres Seis or Ivory James. Which of those two would you pick or would you pick another stud? I'm wanting a proven producer!

Depends if you have a budget. IJ is $4k and TS is going to be somwhere near double that.

I prefer Tres Seis out of those two.- The stallion Roarr would be bred similar to yours if you choose that route.

I'd also look into Epic Leader. His crosses on FG is great and DTF can't hurt it.
Also check out No Pressure on Me if you don't mind the double dose of FG.
Shawne Bug Leo would be my other choice of additional studs.

I've heard that it's hard to get a mare in foal to Epic. Is that just a rumor? Also has he thrown decently sized horses? I'm hoping to put a little more leg on the foal.

I've bred to Epic 3 years now to two different mares.  Both of my mares bred on the first attempt without any trouble.  BVSS is doing a great job with Epic and I would highly recommend crossing him on your FG daughter!!  Most of Epic's offspring are big nice sized horses and are bigger then he is.

I'm an Ivory James fan.  The one I had rode around like a rope horse, so level headed, loads of talent.

How was he built? Big boned? Good feet? I'm just trying to get as much info on all the studs to help my decision! TIA

I don't think either are big boned. Feet depends. Ive seen both go both ways. I have 2 IJ broodmares and prefer them over the TS I have seen, but most TS were studs. Just not a bit impressed. Narrow chests, small etc. But they perform so...

If you're talking to me about how he's built?  Go to Youtube and pull up staceywarner1, his name is PC Frank James.  He's a lot heavier now, he looks like a man now.

Epic Leader has some fertility issues. You’d better have a great repo vet on your end. Where he is standing can do everything right, but if the vet in your end is subpar, you might have problems.

I personally like the looks of the Ivory James better. All of ours have been good sized with great legs and feet. But the fillies do tend to be lazy when it comes to performing.

Not a rumor. I tried both cooled semen counter to counter and frozen last year with both being VERY low motility and cooled was low volume as well.

This year I sent a mare to the farm where he stands and on the 3rd cycle we got a pregnancy.

The two babies to hit the arena that have been by Shawne Bug Leo and out of different Frenchmans Guy x Dash Ta Fame daughters have BOTH been 1D champions, futurity money earners, slot money earners. They have been out of little and descent size mares. This has been 100% on SBL if you are looking into SBL for an option. We back it because we have seen what they have done with different mommas. Both of those horses now have six figure for sale tags on them. They are the real deal. I also love Ivory James. Kay Blandfords one she has been running carries DTF, Ivory James, Frenchmans Guy lines and it's been amazing.
