Does the 4% protein make a big difference?

Since your horse has TMJ issues feeding cubes would not be good unless you get the cubes real mushy as in soaking. I feed my horses Alfalfa cubes, I add a handfull to their feed.

Good deal, does the protein difference between the alfalfa only and the oat and alfalfa make a difference?

I think the protein in the oak/Alfalfa might not be as high as the straight alfalfa, but I really dont know, have you tryed to google the two and read up on them? All I really know is that Alfalfa if pretty high in calories, thats why I will only feed a handfull at a time with their feed, Me giving Alfalfa is kinda more of a treat..

I feed my old donkey a little over half a bucket of soaked alfalfa cubes once a day, hes got no back teeth so he cant grind hay or grass so he gets the cubes for source of hay along with the feed he gets..
