So apparently the internet is outraged over the spray painting of a polar bear in Russia. 

My thoughts:

I'm fairly certain "substances" had to be involved.  

People are stupid. . . 

...and cruel.  Kids at a middle school nearby spray painted a goat green.  Its skin couldn't breathe and it was in agony.  

Amen to that--some kids are just unimaginable in their ability to come up with cruel things to do to animals.   I don't have a lot of time or sympathy for those kinds--my momma tells me I have more "care" for animals than people.  I don't think I'm that way . . . Animals just need me as an advocate I tell her!

That's pretty messed up. This world is also messed up. I'm sure some on here have seen the video going around Facebook with those boys torturing a downed white tail buck... I watched for a second and had to stop.. it made my heart want to explode.. sick individuals torture or maim poor defenceless animals and record it, laughing away... I truly hope those punks get charged with a felony for doing that. Thats the kind of stuff that new law will be good for, but only if its followed thru with. I read that boys step dad is a chief of police but apparently he turned the boys over to the game warden in VA. 

I saw it on the internet when I opened something for work today but didn't look at it.  Knew I'd be sickened. . .  I thought about it tho when I saw this thread--good for Stepdad for turning them over.   I've let Chandler get by with some things over the years, but he's never been cruel to or hurt an animal.  He KNOWS better.  As a matter of fact, he's rescued a starving dog, took a cat from an abusive owner, and the latest was a silver lab that had been shot/drug behind a truck/starved--he and Lula made Johnny Cash part of our family this summer!   (As a matter of fact, all the animals we have at Momma's and my house are all rescues/throwaways except for the horses--so I guess maybe he learned a little!)

Yes, my kids do some really stupid things lol but never ever is it ok to be abusive to an animal... my kids have the biggest soft spot for all animals.. and I'm so glad they are that way. They also hunt, but have been taught how to and how to be respectful to the animals we take for food. Apparently the same boys from the deer video had other videos torturing a chipmunk and another with a beaver. So disturbing what these kids did... makes you wonder if theyd do it to a defenseless person or child as well. Some serious mental problems going on there. They need to be made an example out of. God knows what else goes on that isnt recorded. My heart broke for that poor deer ... these idiots out hunting in the woods ... gives real true hunters a bad rap ... fuel for the crazies out there that dont or cant realize those boys arent real hunters and do not represent hunters. 

100% agree with everything you said. Chan has been taught from very young about kill shots and not allowing animals to suffer when you hunt.  Even with the bird depredation on his fish ponds, I always told him to shoot to kill but follow up quickly if not.  I can't stand to see anything suffer.  

I feel like if someone would be cruel to innocent animals, then what will they do when they get mad/irritated at a child or someone they don't like??  Stepping stones. . . .
