How much hay are you feeding?  We feed Alfalfa.  And horses are turned out for 6 ton8 hours a day on grass.

The term Senior can be confusing here. Renew Gold Senior was originally formulated as a higher energy performance feed for very heavy use road warrior performance horses. Sherry Cervi ran Stingray on that formula as a test of concept for most of the rodeo season four years ago. The original name was to be Renew Gold Extra. When we were asked for a Senior formulation, we used a modified version of that foundation formula with added joint health support, higher pre biotic use and a few other supports designed to help very active older horses. It is pretty amazing on very active Seniors. The original formula may still be best for retired senior horses. Nowever, if you really use your Senior, our Senior is the way to go. For road warrior performance horses we feed the same rates that we use for original Renew Gold. The Senior is higher in fat, protein and calories. Sherry Cervi, Ivy Conrado Saebens and Riley Minor, among others, have been running on the Senior since we brought it out. They all are feeding from one pound to one and one half pounds total per day, with no additional grain based feed, and good hay. It can be blended with original Renew Gold if you just need a little more than the orginal gives your specific horse. Mixing the two would still be at the total daily feed rate of one to one and one half pounds total per day. This is not meant to replace original Renew Gold. For most horses, that is still the appropriate diet.
