| David was a warrior king. He was a man of action and a dynamic leader. He battled Goliath as a teenager and fended off Saul's attackers. He led his men into battle. If something wasn't right, he wasn't hesitant about intervening. Therefore, on might assume that he was also headstrong, cocky, and impulsive. And history suggest he was at ties, Yet in Psalm 109:14-20 the curtain is pulled back, and we are given a behind the scenes look at his prayers. V 14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. Let them be continually before the Lord, that He may cut of the memory of them from the earth; becaue he did not remember to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart. V20Let this be the Lord's reward to my accusers and to othose who speak evil against my person. Even though David was not afraid to act, he was also a man who understood the POWER OF PRAYER. Whatever great thing might occur on the battlefield, he put his TRUST FIRST and foremost IN what God would DO on his behalf. Whatever God accomplished would be significantly more impressive than anything David could accomplish in his own strength. God's intervention is MORE POWERFUL than ANYTHING we can accomplish on our own. For it is WITH God ALL things ARE POSSBILE Matthew 19:26. | Yep prayer works wonders. When we went to the AQHA world show we just prayed that the horse and rider would have a safe trip. Results were phenomenal. If you are sick if you can get some of those black folks at the local Baptist church praying for you, things will be better in no time. They have that praying down to a fine art. I have to have a little procedure done after Christmas and I will go down and talk to the pastor at the church by me. I go down there on Wednesdays to visit with him anyway. Glad everyone did well at the roping. Bet that was fun to watch and the NO TIME has happened to me more than once. Not fun |
