| I bred my mare to Dash Ta Fame. I have never bred my mare before and I was wondering how much the foal could sell for. The mare is a great grand daughter of GO MAN GO and DASH FOR CASH. With ZEVI, Bold Ruler, Cornish Prince, Poco Bueno, Triple Chick, Mr Bar None, King Bee Leo, Three Bars, etc. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/shesa+dashin+zevi Someone wanna help me with the pricing please? | |

| To be honest, anything that is more than a couple generations back isnt going to up the price. Naming big names 3-4-5 generations back isn't going to help much as most AQHA horses go back to Three Bars if you look far back enough. Breeeding to Dash ta Fame with a stud fee of $8,500 (for 2020, dont remember what 2019 was but neither here nor there), on a maiden mare with no proven babies on the ground is sort of iffy on price. IF she was proven in the arena this will help increase the price. Long story short, we need more info on the mare, DTF alone isn't going to get you a 20k foal once it hits the ground, momma matters too :) Also, when that baby hits the ground, no matter what s/he is worth, we need pictures!

Location: Texas | It all depends on if buyers like your dam's pedigree enough. That's what makes some of the DTFs sell for big bucks. For resale purposes, you want the flavor of the month. If your mare didn't have a standout, jam up record, I would think you could get 10-15k for the baby. If she has a PRCA or futurity record, or has a 1D record at the big added money stuff, you may could get more. JMO. They say to try and get like 2-3x the stud fee on babies. But the higher the stud fee, the harder that is to do if the mare isnt bred/proven equally as the sire. | |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | General idea is 3x the stud fee when foal hits the ground - that's what insurance would appraise them for - while the mare may or may not have any produce record - it's an own son or daughter of Dash Ta Fame. I'd put it around 25k as yearling if it has four straight legs and it's head screwed on straight. More the longer you have it and more training it has.
