Hey everyone!
I wanted to create a thread where everyone can link, share, or explain their favorite drills that they use. This can be starting training drills, tune up drills, dry work drills, anything!
I just love seeing what others use and having a resource to go back to when I run across something that I could try a different or new approach on!
I love figure 8's - spefically using them to really pick up and flex in the rib cage - I find that the transition between the two circles is a great test on how well they are doing. Very simple, but I notice a huge difference when I work on this with colts particually between 20 and 60 days (and of course they are never too far along to brush up on it!).
One of my all time favorite drills was one that Ed Wright gave to us a long time ago, regular circle, to a counter arc circle, stop and back them with one rein. I found if that this really made me aware of my hand and leg position and really got my horse fine tuned listening to me if I did it shortly before I made a run too.

I like figure 8s too. You can do a lot with this one, simple, maneuver.
