Location: OH | Have had a rough couple weeks here and really struggling. Lost a yearling stud colt the we had held back as a stud prospect that was the last foal out of our matriarch Joe Tee daughter then Sunday we lost our Sun Frost daughter to a freak accident that was out of the same matriarch mare. Really questioning why we even do this---this will be our 20th foal crop this year and struggling if we want to continue. Been a tough couple years. |

| That is tough! I am so sorry you lost your stud prospect and mare. We lost our two matriarch cows and the best heifer we have ever raised to Yohni's disease, so I understand your pain. We kept our herd going though and several years later bred, raised and showed the National Jr. champion of our breed. She was out of a daughter of the matriarch and a bull we bred and raised. I hope you decide to keep going, but I also know how heartbroken you are. |

Location: Randolph, Utah | I'm so sorry for your loss. I've really been questioning lately if I want to stay in horses/barrel racing. I'll always have horses for ranch work, but financially and emotionally I'm not sure about it, but then I wonder what the hell I'd do with myself without them. . . I hope the rest of your foaling season goes well! |

Location: CTX | So sorry you are going through this. I am in the same boat as you. 2 years ago we lost a beautiful colt by El Scorcho out of our Smart Little Pistol mare during birth (he had his head down and was stuck. Had 2 vets working on them but lost the colt). And last week we lost twins out of our TB mare by a Streak of Fling son... Only our first attempt got us a healthy baby on the ground.... I would really like a baby out of the TB mare, but not sure if I can go through another heart breaking experience..... It sure if awesome when things work out, but it can be devastating at times.... |

We had a run of about 15 years where we had very little problems---then the last 4 or so have been brutal. |

I know I am done for this year. Maybe we will try one more time next year. Sure hope things will go better for you and the rough streak is over now. |

| Sorry to hear about your tough go. I really believe that things happen for a reason even though sometimes it is sure hard to see the "reason". Hopefully the murky waters will clear up so you can discover the reason and proceed on with the plan. |
