| I wonder how other producers will react. Thinking of the ruby buckle in a couple weeks. People have quite a bit of money tied up in arrangments. |

Location: California | Rodeo Houston has those concerts every night and large gatherings of people which is probably more of a concern than the rodeo itself. Since the rodeo is wrapped up in the whole event they just cancelled everything so they didn't have to justify why some events are happening and not others, maybe? |

Location: Texas | I am sure that with the money that the Rodeo and Stock Show pumps into the Houston economy that cancelling was not an easy decision to make. Thinking about all of the work by the kids showing animals and their families and AG teachers. Thinking about all of the workers who depend on the seasonal work to get them thru. |

| https://www.texastribune.org/2020/03/11/coronavirus-texas-updates-community-spread-school-cancellations/ CDC will give Texas more than $40 million for coronavirus response[2:10 p.m.] Texas is set to receive nearly $42 million from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help respond to COVID-19, the federal agency announced Wednesday afternoon. The state will get nearly $37 million while Houston, the state’s largest city, will receive $5 million. The CDC said in a statement that the funding “will allow public health leaders to implement critical steps necessary to contain and mitigate spread of the virus” across the country. The federal agency said it is contacting state health officers Wednesday to begin moving forward with awarding the funding. — Cassi Pollock Can anyone guess why it was so easy for the mayor to make the call? I hope the exhibitors band together and sue the snot outta Houston and recoup every bit of the money they put out raising their projects for that show. Shoot throw in the contestants too!!! You cannot tell me that HLSR is going to refund entries, stalls, and all of the other fees. |

While I am very upset that they canceled the Houston Rodeo and Stock show, the city is losing much more than 5 million dollars, that payment won't come close to what the Rodeo brings in. |
