Bravo to you for countering the misinformed and generally disgusting conspiracy theories a few form members vomit out on this BARREL RACING FORUM!!! Every time Obama opened his mouth he was lying. Remember the " you get to keep your insurance, doctor of choice , blah blah blah? NONE of that happened. My brothers insurance is 1800/month for he and his wife. He has diabetes. It was NEVER that high before Obama. Our insurance deductible is so ridiculous. All because of Obama's insurance scam. I have friends who ALWAYS had health insurance until Obama screwed it all up. She hasn't had insurance in so many years. She is still paying hospital bills from a horrible horse accident years ago because under Obama the prices have gone sky high and again, she couldn't afford insurance and eat at the same time. She is self employed. I call bull crap on this post on insurance...... keep in mind I was a benefits administrator from 1998 till 2008. I know how much health insurance rates went up over those years and I also know how often they excluded stuff. Fast forward to 2016 we had to shop for insurance, because the plan we had couldn't be purchased in our state. Because Obama made them accept everyone they just decided not to sell in our state. So yes you are right we couldn't keep our coverage because the insurance companies (the big ones) decided they just wouldn't even sell our state. Now nothing is more fun than shopping for insurance with ads all over TV willing to sell you a medicare suppement but not Humana, Anthem all the big ones were willing to sell plain old health insurance to a fairly healthy person. After listening to people who think like you (young friends who do crazy things and have lots of toys) tell me how no hospitals or Dr.'s will accept anything purchased through Obamacare I was a getting worried. So I ventured into the Obamacare website got a quote and then I called my Dr, 2 hospitals in the aren and low and behold they would accept it. I was forced into Obamacare I don't get to tax break or the government paying any part of it. I pay it all. 2 people over 60 now. 2016 - $960.00 2017 - $960.00 2018 - $1,236. 2019 - $1,283 2020 - $1,475. When I left my job in 2008 the company I worked for paid Anthem $1,248. per month for 2 people We my husband left his job in 2016 they paid his and mine cost $925. per month we paid just for me. Now you can say the coverage is different (but not much drugs are even cheaper) we aren't Dr people we only use for emergencies or if we need it. I don't think is is something any sensible adult would do without. Anything I have had done thay have paid. Like I said I pay all my premimums because we make to much. HOWEVER BECAUSE OF OBAMACARE if you make under I believe $65,000 per year they pay about half. I checked the prices for the younger couple who do without...... they could have been covered 2 people for under $400.00 per month. This is why I call Bull Crap on your poor me insurance story. There USED to be affordable insurance out there however some people would rather buy toys and luxuries instead of checking into it. Like I have said before the insurance companies have been raping people for years. The way I look at it at least he tried. No it's not perfect but I still think if everyone had it, it would be cheaper in the long run and people wouldn't lose their houses over accidents, cancer or a car wreck. I think it is truly sad that someone who makes $65,000 per year can't afford health insurance. JMO In my working life I have retired a couple of times to ride horses but have went back to work 2 times for insurance only. Makes me kind of a self made expert on insurance and I'm not going back again. I saw where insurance prices went sky high under Bush too. ETA: My hope/goal is to make it to medicare.....affordable insurance till Trump decides to raise it or do anyway with it. Without it breaking us first. Never thought I would have a almost $1,500. per month insurance payment.
