| Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? This question from the heart of King David as He meditates on the greatness of our God. The twenty four verses of Psalm 139 are filled with His wonder at the depths fo God's omniscience, His omnipresence, and His omnipotence...Omniscience; the big word simply means that God knows everything. Five times in this psalm, David stated that God knew him. He began by saying, "O, Lord, You have searched me and know me. You know my sitting down, and my rising up....You are aquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but You know it altogether Psalm 139:1-4. Omnipresence: this word means God is everywhere. NO MATTER where we are, GOD IS THERE. Because God is ALWAYS PRESENT, we are NEVER ALONE. And this assurance of His presence brought comfort and HOPE to the apostle Paul in some of his darkest hours. On more than one occasion Paul described how the Lord stood by him or with him. Acts 23:11; 2 Timothy 4:16-18. God's constant presence with us is indeed a wonder. Omnipotence: means our God is ALL POWERFUL...Psalm 139:13-16 For you formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise yOu, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made...my frame was not hidden from You. When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the eart. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned fo rme, when as yet there were none of them. Once we have caught the order of our omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent God,we will likely be moved to join David in saying, "Search ME, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way of everlasting" Psalm 139:22-24 SEARCH me, TRY me, KNOW me, LEAD me" we could be in NO better hands. Psalm 139:5-6 You have hedged me behind and before and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. For it is WITH God ALL things ARE POSSIBLE Matthew 19:26 Holy Week...WEDNESDAY, Juda betrays; Mary perfumes; God waits for the response to the invitation. Father God, guide us to DO ALL things that will bring GLORY and HONOR TO You AMEN |
