This is my 12 year old AQHA gelding from cutting bloodlines (Doc Quixote, Dual Pep) that I am finishing on the pattern. We are loping through but have yet to start adding speed. He was started on the pattern and then set aside thinking to be too slow and used for various other tasks. Since I've had him he has shown such a desire and enjoyment for the pattern I decided to finish him out in hopes he could run smaller arenas and some jackpots.  We switched to the left first and he has two tight barrels and seems to do much better.  I've often wondered about his confirmation as he is very small and compact. He is about 14.2. He has some delicate features to him. I've went through bouts of discouragement as everyone seems to be running huge horses as of late. What are ya'lls thoughts on his confirmation? He also has weight to lose and muscle to gain from these photos.

Looks great to me.

Don't kid yourself into thinking he isn't capable of being competitive.

Size doesn't determine a winning horse it's their heart. I would say at least 75% of winning horse are small horses.

If he's 14.2, you must be tiny!!!   I love love his breeding; don't count your boy out by any means.  (A disclaimer--I'm a cow horse F A N!!!)

14.2 seems huge. My cow bred mare is 14 in shoes. She has the heart of a lion and inhales barrels. I'm 5'8".

I've got a little mare, 14 hands barely.  She led the youth WPRA in california in 2017 until a knee injury took her out.  She could fly.  Plus Dual Peps are know for thier speed in the cow world.

My mare was a cutting reject and stands about 14.2. She can flat fly and loves to run barrels. I also have a 16 hand that I love, but isn't near as much fun. When I bought a new 3 year old this year I went right for the short horse!

Your boy is stunning so go have some fun with him!
