| God has designed us for success, but not for automatic success. His instructions in this section of Ecclesiastes are challenging to each individual who wants to achieve prosperity in any area of life. At the foundation of His challenge is the demand for diligence. The challenge is seen when the writer insists, "Cast your bread upon the waters"or give a serving to seven and also eight." Vv 1-2. God is SHOUTING for us to start, work hard, and DO IT! It is as though He is pushing us and saying " YOU CAN DO THIS" it is not beyond you. It is not for some special group of people born on the right side of the track. START! LAUNCH! TRY! Then God demands, "NO EXCUSES!" As the writer of Ecclesiastes says, "He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap" v 4 Don't wait for the 'right" moment; the RIGHT MOMENT is NOW. DO WHAT YOU KNOW TO DO NOW. Be diligent and sow your seed in the morning and again in the evening. God demands, :You do not know which will prosper, either this or that or whether both alike. V 6. Diligence is a strong REFUSAL to quit with decision to REMAIN FAITHFUL until the desired result is reached, and then to KEEP ON so that you may maintain what's been gained. There's no dilenge without determination, and there's no determination without the passion to keep on casting. Determination is the mind set and silence is doing the work required. Father God, guide me today to do all things that will bring glory and honor to You AMEN for it is WITH God all things are possible Matthew 19:26 |
