Just wondering how Mr. Illuminator bred horses tend to be? Temperament, training etc.
I bred my daughter of Valiant Hero to TR Illumniator Cash this year. I asked around about his temperament specifically. I was told by someone who has ridden several of his colts that they had great dispositions and were very trainable. I picked him to give me something different and something durable to hold up to rodeo life. So I guess we will see next year!
We have a 5 year old gelding that goes back to Mr. Illuminator on the bottom side; I think he's either grand or great grand get, and out of a Topsail Cody mare. He's got a really big engine, super smart, cowy, and I would say overall fairly easy to train, but he is not at all for a beginner. His personality, training wise, is get in and get out; he's not the type of horse that will let you "pick on" him persay. If you pick it just irritates the crap out of him and he'll get really pi$$y and buck. He's my husband's heel prospect, but I'd really like to put him on the barrels. We've played around and he's got a really cool move. I'd own another for sure.
