Hi I have some great bred young horses that while I can ride and even start them on poles and barrels I can not run at top level. Also since hubby and I are in 60's cant afford, limited bank account, to send to a top trainer or rider. SO my question is, does/has anyone ever leased a young well bred horse to someone to get them out and running? I do not like to ride my horses until they are 4 so she is started under saddle, and has had 60 days of riding on her. This is her pedigree https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/this+coronas+bugged Stallion is just getting get out and in the pens so am excited to see what this one can do but like I said I cant do the higher end kind of running.
Also may have another to lease out next yr, this yr I am planning on taking her to appaloosa Worlds if all works out in Oct this is her pedigreehttps://www.allbreedpedigree.com/aint+seen+chaos+yetI was injured last yr so didnt get her going like I wanted and couldnt ride her so I bred her, figured if she got really good I wouldnt want to take time off to breed her later! The 6 yr old that is. Dont know if anyone can help me but thought I would just reach out and see what options arepicture is of the 4 yr old when she was 3

Whatever you decide to do have everything in writing (who will pay for what and when, I mean EVERYTHING) and have the horse insured to keep both parties happy in case something happens. I dont see why not if you have someone around that you trust to ride your horse for you while they get to ride a horse, sounds like a win win if you can find the right match.
Good luck! Cute little horse. :)
Leasing is pretty darn risky unless you can see the horse at least every 2 weeks are more and have insurance on the horse for that just incase accident or illness. Good luck in what you do
Personally I would never do it.
