Hey everyone! I'm going to a 3 day race next weekend and my horse has never run 3 times in one weekend. He doesn't normally sore up or get real stiff, but he is going to be stalled, so that could be a factor that changes that. I've been looking at some OTC things to help with soreness. I saw AniPrin P, but I don't want to give him anything that's not real good for him. He is 16, doesn't take any other medications, and is very sound. Have y'all ever used this? If not, what do you recommend to help with soreness? Like I said, he may not even sore up, but I just want to make sure I can help him with it if he does. Thanks, y'all!

Honestly , I would just get some equioxx and one little pill a day. Mine get it for every run.
Do you need a prescription for that? Stupid question I know. Our older horse had a prescription for bute, but we ran out of it.
Yep you do. Has to come from a vet. I think a 60 pill bottle is about 60.00 so a dollar a pill. I give one the day before , day of, day after a race. Works great for general soreness and is safer for ulcer prone horses if that's an issue.
If your horse doesn't care what is in his grain, I just use about 10 Naproxen/Aleeve about an hour and a half out when I have multiple runs on any horse. Mine just eat it up with no issues and works about the same at Bute. This was a vet recommendation.
I figured so! Thanks so much for the info!
Ahhh thanks! I just get paranoid about pain reliever type stuff. Lol!
