Location: Oklahoma | I need some ideas My mom and I run a concession for a local club. I need some ideas on some cold food. Since its gotten pretty hot no one really wants hot dogs, walking tacos, and hamburgers they are wanting cold stuff. My mom has made some regular salads and has sold some of them. Only to the women at the ropings. I thought bout a bacon chicken ranch wrap but that all I can come up with. What would you want to eat on hot day at a roping or barrel race? thanks |

they still selling its just people are requesting something cold to eat wise. I have ice cream, popcicles, but food wise they want cold I cant really think of anything besides sandwiches. I have a hard time for myself on bringing lunches to work since we cant use microwave or the fridge! |

| Get a few GOOD types of lunch meat (partytime ham, turkey etc) and different cheese options along with other toppings and do a "deli" type sandwich where they choose the bread, meat and other options like subway does. |

Im doing the rootbeer float! thanks! to the one with the deli meat and bread that would be too expensive and wont last long if you dont sell. The crowds not always big at the weekly events. So I have to be careful to get stuff that will hold over or not much of.

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Maybe have a suggestion jar at the next race on what everybody would like to eat. I cant really think of anything but only hambugers and hotdogs and sausage wraps, My favorite is always a good old fashion Hamburger, dont care how hot it is, with a big glass of sweet tea. Yummy yummy yummy |

Location: in the ozone | Taco salads are always good. Maybe make up a limited amount of subs & put that on the sign "Limited number of ____ subs available, but when they are sold out, that's it for this day". |

| Pasta salad, fruit salad (frozen fruit), chicken salad sandwich or ham salad sandwich, Trail Bologna and cheese bags (trail bologna might just be an Ohio thing), fresh salsa and chips (super easy to make a large batch)

| When I think of cold things I like to eat in the summer, I think of fresh cold fruit (watermelon and cantalope especially), chicken salad (maybe with some sliced homegrown tomatoes), marinated cucumbers and onions, marinated bean salad, and a chrispy chicken chef salad. Homemade ice cream might go over well and could be frozen. Maybe summer sausage and cheese cubes. I kind like the idea of the deli type sandwitches. I'm also a weirdo that likes cold pizza, but nobody else probably does. What type of facilities are you going to have? That kinda also helps the direction of what food you can do. |

Location: Illinois | I love the cold sandwich idea, and like above poster said just advertise that there will only be so many available. Nice thing is you can freeze bread at least, so if you don't use up all the bread you can save it for the next time. And really for that type of thing just grab a head of lettuce, a package of cheese slices, and some oscar meyer prepackaged lunch meat. They can get chips or maybe offer a pasta salad/potato salad/cole slaw side & drink as a combo. You can do a cold "nacho" with the chips and salsa, shredded lettuce, & sour cream, etc. |

You might check with a restaurant supply company like Sysco regarding obtaining potato salad in bulk (that's really tasty!) as well as economically priced trays/boxes for the sandwiches with sides. I also like the idea of wraps. Quick and tasty! When it's hot, I prefer a cold lunch. |
