| Those of you who rodeo full time how do you budget all the traveling and expenses? Curious to see everyone’s different budgets and ways to make it. Also those of you who have side hustles I’m curious to hear them ?? I figured this would be a fun topic it’s something I’ve always wondered I know it’s not cheap or easy traveling full time! |

| I don't rodeo full time, but I know many that do. Most don't know that usually the 11-15 holes in each event going into the NFR are deep in the red when they get there and only a good finals will give them a profit for the year. I personally know of one who was 15th going into NFR and they were 40k In the hole. Gas cards and credit cards all year with fingers crossed. Most sponsorships are product sponsors , not cash. |

Location: Montana | I know Amber Moore, her and her husband own a blueberry nursery, and an outdoor living company and she also has her own tack line called AKM originals that she owns with her daughter I believe. I know a few take on outside horses that need to be seasoned. |

I totally agree with this and not just in barrel racing. Team ropers may be a little luckier because there are jackpots that they can go to that other events don't. Steer wrestlers and bronc riders, not so much. Even calf ropers don't jackpot the way team ropers do. |

I listened to The Gauge podcast the other day with Ivy Saebens. I think it was her second NFR she said she had to borrow money from her sister for diesel to get to Vegas and had to beg the hotel to let her pay once the $10k hit her bank account. Hard pass. I like my financial security too much. |

I have always been under the impression that the "host hotels" was where the contestants stayed and they were comped rooms unless they were going to stay somewhere else. i.e The Excalibur was to host the barrel racers, MGM hosted the calf ropers and etc. Interesting to find out that they don't actually do that. |
