Hi there, have a 5 year old gelding that tends to get soreness in his poll area. I have an osteopath work on him every 6-8 weeks and have noticed a huge improvement in the first 4 weeks after she works on him. However it is not feasible for her to come to me every month due to distance and schedules. I wish. What are some things I can do to help him keep his poll in better shape and increase the longevity of the treatments? It is amazing to see how good he feels after she works on his head.. his nose runs and he looks so happy.
His symptoms are tilting and general stiffness in one directin or the other. It can be on either side truly which is puzzling to me. He used to be very stiff left and after she worked him in about 6 weeks it went to the right strangely enough.

I have heard about TMJ injections but not entirely sure what the diagnosis would be to get to that point. I am not at ALL opposed to injecting but am unfamiliar with this particular course of treatment in this area.

Learn the Masterson Method. It's very simple and you can learn it by watching his dvd and/or reading his book. You can't possibly hurt the horse. I will say with several horses I worked with I was not even touching g the hair, just right above it. Or even a few inches above.

Masterson Method works! Check out videos on You Tube, or you can get Books and DVD'S from their website.

My horse had a lot of problems with her poll.  I had a lot of sucess with a PHT poll pack.  For a while I would put my horses halter on out in the pasture for most the day, i've used one for several years on her and now I just use it anytime I have a halter on her, but it's always on the halter thats on her.  I was having work done montly and I should have probably had it done more, the poll pack has eliminated it greatly.

Cold Laser.  There is two points around ear.  Then the TMJ and mandible.  You should notice a immediate difference
