The most popular lightweight barrel saddle on the market currently (or as I believe) are Brazilian saddles. I was able to ride in one last summer, I thought I was gonna fly off. The quality if really good and they hold up really well. They weigh about 9ish pounds without a cinch. As for cons, 99% of them are really ugly. JMO, the fenders were a bit much (too much movement, threw me off balance). Fallon Taylor and Tiany Schuster are big advocates for them.
I've heard the Brazilian saddle referred to as disposable. I tried the one FT sells. The fenders were softer, I couldn't mount. ?? a friend checked out the Cicle Y lightweight and said it looked cheap and junky. Haven't seen the Double J yet, but I'm not a Double J fan.
I just bought a Masters off of Facebook. I like the lightweight aspect, but I hope it's of a decent enough quality that I can ride it daily. I have a Featherlight Double J ordered, but it won't be here until probably November. I have a more petite Slick By Design mare and need a lighter weight for her.
I have a McCall All-around lite. It weighs in at 25 lbs. I love it.
