Hey!I am wanting to cross a barrel stud on my mare! She has lots of turn, heart, and stride! I really want to find a stud that has lots of GO and try! I need opinons on what stallions might work best with her! Here is my mare : )
How is she bred?
How is this mare bred, this information would help alot.
Speedy stallions that I like are Dashin Dynamo and View Me Flying (Tres Seis). They're a good value too.
The mares pedigree would be very helpful as well as a budget for the stallion.
What are you looking to improve on besides speed?
Do you want to add size, bone, how is her behavior?
Will you be keeping the colt or are you looking at resale as a young prospect?
What kind of style on the pattern do you prefer (if you plan on keeping the baby)?
All those things plus more need to be looked at when considering a stallion.
Like many others have said, it really depends on her breeding. If she is cow bred, you are wanting to look at a cow bred stallion.
I've had luck with A Regal Choice, but he is not available for breeding in the U.S. nor have I heard a lot about his barrel racing progeny.
I've had really good luck with anything from Corona Cartel. I have a grandson and have worked with 2 others. They have a very friendly temperament but can be quite energetic at times. My favorite Corona Cartel stallions would probably be Ivory James and Prime Talent. Lisa Lockhart rides Rosas Cantina CC (daughter of Corona Cartel) and Prime Diamond (Grandson of Corona Cartel).
Ofc, Racebred doesn't always mean they are bred for speed...
Here is the mares pedigree...https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/militant+i+candyOther things I would like to improve on her would be more size in the hip and shoulder and a stallion with a shorter back. Also something with a mellow attitude that wants to work! I can pay up to $2000 for stallion fees. Color is nothing to me neither is the sex of the foal. I would be breeding to keep then hopefully be my next rodeo horse.
