I'm highly considering switching to BB. 

I've been feeding Purina for a long time, but unfortunately the quality and consistency has been seriously declining. I feed the Ultium Growth and its $30 a bag, so not cheap. I sent an email with pictures of the feed so they could see what I'm concerned with and they responded with a request for a picture of the tag with the manufacturing date and mill info. It was less than 30 days from that date and stored correctly and they stopped responding to me. That's a good indication to me it's time to go. 

I started feeding the Equilene Pro Care about a month and half ago.  It’s similar to the Ultium Gastric Care.  Has added Lifeline Plus which is the Plasma supplement.  Plus buffers for gastric issues.  I feed the Lifeline Plus with it and a joint supplement.  Plus Alfalfa Hay.  The Intensify Growth and Development is really good for broodmares and the foals.  

I would highly recommend that you listen to the Podcast Feed Room Chemist.  It has different subjects covered by Blue Bonnets Nutritionist.  

I feed the omega force and I love blue bonnet feeds! One thing I was told with purina and nutrena is that they mix with cost being their motivation. What ever is cheaper at the time . Blue bonnet mixes the same percentage no matter the cost of ingredients. (Anyone hear differently please comment) but that's what I have been told. 

Yes, bluebonnet is a fixed/locked formula. Their feed is excellent and has always been of consistent quality, where others have had other quality issues. I appreciate that they own 1 mill where their feed is made and 100% ionophore FREE.  Not a lot of room for error or quality issues.

Older guy ran awesome last night. Young one was a little broncy...and she's never bucked in her life. Defnitely putting too much fuel in and not taking enough out of that tank

I started listening to the feed room chemist about 3 weeks ago actually. I have contacted BB about a feed consult as well and waiting on that so I can figure out which products would best suit my program. 

I actually don't feed a lot of grain, but I do have a couple that need more than my standard free feeding alfalfa and teff diet.

Did you get your feed consult 

I have been so impressed with Bluebonnet that I became a dealer after feeding it for 2 years (and fed all kinds of different feeds prior). The consistency and of course the hay analysis and consult is a great bonus. My rep and I communicate constantly. I have 10 head I'm feeding and cost per day matters to me also. The ProCare is my most popular feed bc it fits so many situations.

I'm an animal science major so I nerd out on this stuff. The least cost formulation that the majority of big companies do is just not what I agree with. I don't feed a lot of grain bc I truck in the best alfalfa I can plus feed Tef and have pasture (though not the best and it's on my improvement list).

I have multiple before and after pictures with everything from their base feed to the ProCare.

wondering how much the procare cost? my feed store doesn't carry it right now but i've asked to see if they can carry it and asked for a price but they haven't gotten back with me. I was wondering if those horses that got itchy asked the company rep abt what might be causing it. 

I think it was running around $24 around here last time I checked. 

I'm in East Texas and it runs $26 from my feed store. 

I love Pro Care. This is my horse when I got him in February, was with a college kid doing some day work on oats, corn and coastal. I certainly think he's improved.

Hes sure a lucky fella that you came along, he looks like a different and healthy horse for the better.

I feed my hard keeper, ulcer prone open gelding 6lbs of ProCare a day. I have done and tried every other feed for hard keepers on the market and he either hated it right when i gave him the first mix, or he ended up hating it a month afte being on it. In the before, he was on the omega force and about 5 different supplements including lifeline, formula 1 noni blue label, cep gut check 2x a day, herbal hindgut conditioner and the provision microbials. Ended up adding in Forco before switching to ProCare. Once ProCare came out on Chewy, I have been feeding it to him since. I now have all 3 of my performance horses on it. They get 4lbs a day (easy keepers). With chewy, I buy 2 bags every 2 weeks on payday which is about $65. I live in Montana, so finding a rep is ridiculous. 

In the end, I wont feed anything else. Now all he gets is the Procare and their GastropHix supplement. He's currently on the hindgut program pre-season, which I am liking also.
