i have a lot of old tapes  i want to convert to memory stick ot cd   what do i need to do it   help

There is ways to do it, your best option is to google someplace that will do it for you.  Another option would be to purchase the equipment that you can do it on.  I have one and it works well, it is just taking the time to do it.
