Has anyone dealt with sidewinder syndrome in an old horse? If so was it due to the just the age of the horse, or brought on by something like EPM, an injury? What was the outcome?
I have a diagnosis and we are working on the cause to set up a treatment plan. He is 23, retired years ago due to unsoundness and has been pasture sound, healthy otherwise up until now. He was fine one day and crab walking the next. The saddest part of this his eyes have lost their shine. He has always been full of expression.
I am so sorry for that diagnosis, unfortunately I have not seen any good come out of that.I pray for your boy,and for peace and strength for you.
Aww poor fella. I have never dealt with that. I wonder if maybe he could have hurt his neck are hit his head to have cause this to happen. Did your vet put him on a Anti-infammatory medication?
Yes he is on banamine. Slight improvement this morning, vet is coming back this afternoon.
