Today is
My big gelding who had a laminitis episode in June is Now, sound. Yesterday was the first set of shoes he has had since it all started. We went with a natural balance aluminum shoe and rim pad on the fronts and so far, looking great!!! Just wondering if anyone has ever ran a horse in these shoes??? Tried to find an old thread and didn't see any ! Thanks!
I had a friend who ran her horse in the steel with the plastic frog pads, compression material and didn't have any problems. She had a solid 2D/rodeo competitive horse. Over time she did wean out of them. I can't remember why she put them on though, only that she went with the steel because it didn't wear as fast.

Thanks!! We went with aluminum this first time just for weight and he is still healing up. When he starts running again I might have to do the same with frog support.
I ran my old mare in natural balance aluminum shoes for years. No pads though. They suited her well and she stayed sound until she was in her mid 20s and tore a superficial flexor tendon on a back leg.
Both my horses are in NB shoes... zero complaints!
I run 2 in Natural Balance Shoes. Happy with them!

Thanks!
Applied properly (which is key), they can be a big help. There's all different types. Ive used lites and centerfits in varying cases.
I had a mare I had to bring back with Natural Balance shoes- bad farrier ruined her hooves. Ran solid 2D with no issues. Top line came back stronger once we set her this way.
My old shoer used only NB and I honestly had no complaints on them either! Glad to hear your gelding is doing so much better!
