| There is no lasix substitute. If a horse really needs it, they need it. Lots of gimmicks out there. One of the best things you can do to support a horse is keep them in tip top shape. |

This! Everything you've heard of is may help to lessen the amount of lasix you need but nothing will replace it.. Just give the shot, your horse will thank you. Would you like to feel like you're drowning every time you do an activity you put 100% into?? |

Location: Illinois | You can just give it orally if you don't want to inject it, jsut give it a little more time to be effective. There is no substitute for lasix and it can be done orally, IM, or IV so its very user friendly |

Location: Arizona | I am using Race Today and give lasix, so far I haven't seen any performance changes. We are still NOT clocking our normal times and having alley issues. Not sure what my mare issues are. I have used lasix 3 times now. Giving IV shots is pretty easy to do. I would just give the shot. You can give it in the muscle too. |

I'll third this! My stallion bled three times, two times while at the VA Horse Center, which is terribly dusty with gravel/blue stone dust, and once at our state fairgrounds which is also dusty with gravel and blue stone dust. But, my vet mentioned that Zan looked a little portly and would probably do better if in better shape. I have been very diligent since I fixed my back issues to keep him really worked well. He's gone to multiple shows at different facilities, and one at the fairgrounds on a hot July 4th day, and not bled. I will not take him to the VA Horse Center due to no control over his stalled environment. But I can park on the upwind side at the fairgrounds. He does even better if nebulized (saline or silver, no meds) and I'll be looking into getting one in the near future. |

Location: Georgia | Unfortunately, there is no substutite for lasix. If your horse is a bleeder, please don't stop giving it. I hate poking my horse too but it's either that or she get's to be a pasture pet. Not risking her health because I dont want to give a shot. I will say that I believe supplementation along with the lasix can be beneficial. |

I use Race Today and I'm also a firm believer in having one fit...as well. |

| I am a lasix advocate BUT, it's not a one size fits all. I know a horse that's allergic to it and in some countries it's banned. Times have changed, I've used Bleedershield in the past and it's what they are using in Europe where lasix is not legal to use...and there are studies to back it up. It's spendy though, a lot more than Lasix.
There are also studies showing lasix can cause bones to weaken over time and combined with biophosphanates like Osphos/Tildren is even worse. Conditioning is the number one more important thing, if you think you've done enough...do more! Breezing included. :) |

Again, the injectable can be given orally. Just squirt it in there, its way cheaper than paste |
