Another post got me thinking and i didn't want to steal their post... does anyone own a Magnawave and do sessions for others for a fee? My thought is if I were to ever purchase a Magnawave i would have to finance it so i could use the money i charge others to pay for the machine and then after the machine is paid off it would be extra entry fee money lol. **if i were ever to work on someone else's horse i would become certified first

If you work on other horses for a fee, would you recommend it? Do you make a decent amount per month to at least help make the monthly payments on a financed machine? I have always wanted to start a small side hustle to help others, help other barrel racers and ropers with their horses, and as a way to meet more people since i'm naturally an introvert.

please don't be rude. This is just a thought i'm tossing around. I love digging into things and learning as much as i possibly can so it's not like i would order a machine tomorrow and start advertising that i have a successful business and work on other horses. I MAINLY want this as a way to help mine and my husband's horses but i can't quite afford a machine alone.

I don't own a magnawave but my horse/human massage therapist does and uses it on clients. She travels around the state and charges $1 per minute plus mileage. I don't know how much she makes but it is her full time job.
From what I understand the magnawave company provides a lot of education on the machines and you would definitely want to utilize that and run the session, rather than let people use it themselves.

We are in Ohio and there are many who do exactly what you are talking about---not sure how profitable it is, but many are doing it.

I think it would be pretty difficult to make a side business out of MagnaWave or another PEMF company machine. There are a couple people I know that barrel race and also have a MagnaWave business that they work at the barrel race they're at and do pretty well.
MagnaWave has a map with their certified practitioners that could give you an idea of how many are in your area . There will be many other people that have non-MagnaWave machines as well. Depending on where you're at, sessions are $60-$100. Machines start around $7500 with the popular machines for heavy use going for &12-$25,000.

I'm not thinking I will get rich off of it by any means or even make it into a full time income. I'm just thinking if i could at least make enough to help pay for a machine and then once the machine is paid off maybe have a little extra entry fee money i would be happy with that. between myself barrel racing and my husband team roping we are at events every single weekend usually the whole weekend long.I only know of about 3 people around me who do sessions for others and 1 of those is rarely at any of the same events. that's not to say others aren't out there, but just that i know of off the top of my head. i am going to check magnawave's website though just out of curiosity.

another thought i have is the potential tax write offs. cost of the machine, mileage to events that i perform sessions at, maintenance of machine, etc. i'm an accountant so the business side of things are going through my head as well lol

I say go for it if you can pay for the machine without worrying if you have enough clients to make the payments because that will be just an incredible amount of stress on you and your finances.  I believe there is a market for it... I use a girl that comes to my house to treat my horses and us if we are having issues. She's made pretty decent money off of me, I know that! I like that she's available,  travels to me, and will also meet me at races if they are local, I also like that she follows up with me and asks how everything and everyone is doing after treatments. It's the little things like that that keeps us loyal to her because there are many around that do PEMF. But I feel comfortable with her, my horses know her and she took the time to get to know them by asking lots of questions. I can call her and she will be out within 24 hours and she also has a good working relationship with our vets because she use to tech for them. It's not an issue for her to call them and get information from any of our cases to discuss treatment plans etc etc. She's knowledgeable beyond just her certification training because of her experience with being a tech and I appreciate that. Also of she doesn't know an answer she will find it...she will tell me she honestly doesn't know but to let her dig and get some answers for me. Not just guessing for the sake of looking smart or getting more sessions in.

So even if your area is saturated with other pemf people, I think you need to be able to offer more to stand out and make people want to use you exclusively. For me, it's the caring attitude,  she does care, I can genuinely tell.. its not just making a buck ...its the availability, the willingness to come on a Sunday evening last minute or answering my late night texts asking questions.. she even travels to where our filly is at the trainers to work on her as needed.

I own one for our personal use and I don't think it would benefit me to set up anyplace with it.  There are so many people that have their own or a similar one that I haven't ever seen the people really busy at events.  May your area is different than mine, it would really be a good idea to check the certified list around you.

Same! I have one for personal use and it would never benefit me to set it up at any races near me. There are a couple other local girls that have a machine and charge like $50 for a full body. To be honest, that's not worth it to me for the cost of the machine and my time. I've done a few horses at the barn I board at, but they aren't consistent with getting it done. I charge $100 for a full body.
