Location: Holland, Tx | There are A LOT of people it seems that have found a company over-seas to work for that is paying GREAT!!! At one time, I think it was for Halliburton (or maybe Brown & Root) , but someone at work (her husband is about to go over there) said they went bankrupt and someone else bought them out. Anyone know anything about it??? She's supposed to be getting me the website, but I am off work until Monday. I might want to ship Cary off between now and then!!! |

Location: Fort Polk Louisiana | I beleive its Brown and Root. And they pay some big bucks. $100 plus a year. My BIL knows alot about it and was telling my husband about it. (Besides hubby my BIL is also Army right now and even considered getting out to do that as he is already special forces so it would 'be a cake-walk' according to him). Dont know about the bankrupcy though. |

Location: Arizona | Gosh, it can't have been so long that I forget to type an entry before hitting the submit button. Abby-there are a BUNCH of different contracts for a variety of work. Northrop-Grummon, SAIC, Halliburton, Brown & Root, etc. all have various contracts and available jobs doing different things. All of the jobs are paying very well, and most are eligible for the tax deferral/tax free 70% or 100k of salary deals. If Cary talks to some of his 'friends' or cronies, they can probably point him the right direction depending on what exactly he wants to do (security, communications, analyst or other 'specialty' work)...

Location: Oklahoma | The last I heard, it was Brown &Root, KBR, I believe it is called. Brlrcr, on the board here, can probably give you more details when she is on as I believe her hubby had checked into it, but ladies it is no picnic. My husband's brother-in-law's brother is going to work over there and the living conditions, plus the danger are unbelievable. That's about all I know, sorry. |

Location: Holland, Tx | Cary was a Navy SEAL during the last war. He knows someone who went over there to work for "who-ever" and told me to get more information on it for him, but I never gathered much info and even the little I gave him his reply was "I'm not going back over there during all this crap" but things aren't as bad now as they were before so who knows???? A girl I work with said her friend's husband is over there and his first check for 2 weeks was over $8000. That was with some overtime though. My main concern would be "how long" it would last?? Cary has a great job now and it took him a couple years to get on with this company. Wouldn't want to throw it all away. |

Location: Oklahoma | Just had another flash--I think the KBR stands for Kellogg, Brown and Root--I believe they have a web site under that name or it may even be under Brown and Root's web site as KBR, etc. |

Location: Arkansas | Halliburton owns Kellog Brown & Root. They lost some of their contracts with the government due to over charging and inflating bills. From our experience it is a hoax. My husband filled out and turned in his 15 page application. He passed all the background checks and received a phone call telling him he was hired and to turn in his notice to his current employer. he then got another phone call with his flight info. This flight took him to Houston where he was to undergo some training the government required for civilians going into a war zone. When he got there there was something like 400 other people there too. After sitting in a motel for 2 days he was told he was not one of the ones picked to go. I think out of 400 they picked 66. Now on the phone it was not mentioned You Might Have a Job. They led all these people on with promises, let them quit their jobs, some gave up leases on apartments or houses. Many were not going to be able to go back to their jobs. We got lucky, my husband's boss let him come right back and pick up another truck. For truck drivers they claim to pay $7,500 a month. You sign on a year at a time. |

Location: Holland, Tx | I think I will leave good enough alone and leave him where he is. One of the nurses at work said there's positions available for nurses over there, but I don't think there's rodeo so I am staying put!!! |

Location: dead end road | My brother applied for about 20 jobs online and never heard a single response from them, so he figured there was something fishy about it. I can't believe they let those people quit their jobs and then told them they weren't picked to go. I know there is good money over there, but there is also grave danger as well. |

Location: East Texas | Well my experience is a little different since my husband already has worked for KBR and still has contacts. They offered to send him over there for 6 months for a little over $100,000 (had contract drawn up and everything). But I'm sorry....my husband's life isn't worth any amount of money. The thought of me having to raise our little girl by myself was enough to make him say "No thanks!" Besides the job he has now pays pretty damn well. |
