Location: MI | We have 2 local tack shops about 10ish miles away in either direction, but they rarely, if ever have sales on what I need. So I shop online if it's cheaper, generally at some of the sites already listed. One I haven't seen listed is Smith Brothers, I've ordered a bit from them and they've been great. |

Location: Texas | BamaCanChaser - 2013-11-19 6:29 PM I have FIVE tack stores with 10 miles of my house. And I still do nearly all of my shopping online. Just about the only thing I can think of that I buy locally is buckets (can't ship them for what you'd save). I am a bargain hunter addict and if I can save $10 on something I will order it and wait vs buying it in person and having it right then. I stalk FB groups like nobody's business, I always check Amazon and Ebay, and I use Google to compare prices on different sites. I never buy bits brand new, I have just never not been able to find the one I need, that may be a little used, but is half the price of the same bit new. I have recently started buying my jeans from this really awesome FB group. I'm so incredibly picky about jeans and that used to be the ONE thing I would let myself splurge on (always shopped at Buckle), just the other day I snagged a pair of what are usually $150+ jeans for $40. The exact same ones I would have bought in the store and when they got here I honestly couldn't tell the girl had worn them a single time. If there's something you are looking for (not just horse related) I guarantee you there is a FB group to help you find it! :)
Seriously, you found jeans on fb?? I never knew these pages were on fb!! Tack, clothes...... What the heck!!! I am so glad I started this thread!! |

Location: LA Lower Alabama | I have a few tack sellers locally but when the suggested retail price is half I choose to support jeffers. They are in our state and offer the pricing and shipping I need so I support them. I support those who try. |

| My husband says Big Brown could make it to our house without a driver. That truck comes pulls in my driveway quite reguarly as I do 99% of all my shopping, tack and otherwise, on-line. If I could I'd buy my groceries on-line, that way I'd only have to leave the house and/or barn for barrel races on Saturday and church on Sunday! |

The grocery stores in California offer that option (buying groceries online). No lie.
It really depends on what you are talking about. For some things I will head to facebook for. I am on the email lists of all major tack stores and what not and I stay pretty current on the things that I know I will need or may need, etc. I am a bargain shopper thats for sure-particularly because I buy so much!
Our feed stores are all right but I live near 4T tack. They always have insane deals on a lot of stuff. In fact, I am likely going to head there saturday to pick up wormer just because it is usually so much cheaper than anywhere else. |
