Location: Where the west begins in the Bayou | OK GUYS I am in the market for a MARTIN SADDLE for my 7 year old and I am torn between the MARTIN BARREL RACER AND THE CROWN C I have read a few forums that people have said they fell the Crown C throws them forward and if you read on Martins website it states the Racer is a good saddle for kids. I know the Crown C is the BIG thing right now but I am more concerned more with a goof fit rather than what is popular Any INPUT will help thanks in advance |

Location: Beggs, OK | The people that I have seen that are saying they are getting thrown forward in a Crown C are squeezing themselves into a saddle that's too small for them. I never had that problem with mine. |

Location: Where the west begins in the Bayou | Ok thanks for the input I appreciate it That makes sense i do find the saddle seats run smaller she fits in a Joesy size 12 however the 12.5 Martin is a little small so when we order it will be a 13 |

Location: Sperry, OK | They only time I had issue with being thrown forward, was of rider error and not due to my saddle. I LOVED both of the ones I had (Crown C), but could not get either of them to fit my horse. They are a hard to fit saddle, so before putting out that much money, PLEASE get your horse fitted, and fitted again...then maybe fitted again, just for good measure! |

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | I had a Martin (not the Crown C) with the adjustable cinch plate... I loved it. Took me a few days to get use to where you placed the saddle, it being futher back behind the wither's than a normal saddle. I had to sale it and wasn't happy, but the horse I was using it on changed body size and didn't have anything else it would fit. I never had a problem with it throwing me forward. I would buy another in a heart beat if I needed one and I had a horse that could use it.

Location: North Texas | I won a Martin Crown C last year and had the saddle fit to my horse and fit the seat to me. I normally ride a 14 1/2" and ordered a 15" in the Crown C. I absolutely love mine. I don't notice it throwing me forward at all. I have noticed that it doesn't let you get behind your horse. Its keeps you centered on your horse by not letting you feet get too far forward or behind you. I have ridden in the Josey ultimate and a Masters. I couldn't get up our of the Josey and the Masters let me get behind. I would order another Crown C if I had the money. I love them. Like someone said, though get the saddle fitted to the horse. It also rides back behind the sholders which took some getting used to. |

Location: up to my waist in you know what | Love my crown c, I do not feel that it throws me forward and I ride a very front endy horse. Keeps me very square, super easy to get up and out of so you don't get behind. Love the adjustable rigging as my 2 horses ride with it in different positions. Unfortunately bills and needing a bigger gullet will force me to sell it but I would buy another in a heartbeat! |

Location: Utah | I have had and have rode all three of the current different Martin brand barrel saddles. I started in the original Cervi, and I love that saddle for my free running horses, after I had my little boy I just didn't feel as secure in it riding a ratey horse, lol. I have rode it to death over the last 7 years, my favorite saddle. I decided that since I loved that one so much I would love the Crown C, I had a ratey horse that the original just wasn't working with. For me personally I never felt like the Crown C threw me forward, but I just didn't like the way that the seat felt. I don't know how to explain it other than I felt like I couldn't sit on my pockets when I wanted to stop, like my pelvis was getting rolled forward not back. After many conversations with Brian and talking about seats and saddles, riding styles etc, he told me to find a Martin Racer. I sold my saddle I was riding (not a Martin but another "name" brand expensive one) and found a used racer. It sits more similar to my older Cervi saddle, just "deeper". I really, really like that saddle and have had a few girls buy one after they tried mine. I feel like between my 2 saddles I have a saddle that fits me, my horses and can fit the different types of styles that my horses run with. I'm trying to talk my husband into letting me get another one, and am really really torn on which one of the 2 I would get. |

| I have a Crown C I bought new 2 months ago. Love that I got the roughout, non-padded seat. The first thing I did was go to Teskey's, start with a 6 1/2 and add a half inch until I got the perfect fit for my horse. Then I sat in several different styles and made my choice.
Saddles I had owned for years began throwing me forward 10 months ago. I went on a diet, lost 30 lbs, and no more problems. When I weighed too much it was like trying to ride sitting on a basketball. |

Okay, I'm so happy I'm not the only one who felt that... |
