I love the Nettles, I purchased the petite last time as I have a small foot but wouldn't recommend them again. I have had bilateral knee surgeries and terrible low back issues. I need to order a few pair to go with saddles I won this summer, as the knees hurt when I ride the colts in those saddles.

Used2B - 2013-11-24 6:26 PM Nevertooold-do you use those cushioned ones? I think I'd like those. Can you give me an idea of the price of the cushioned ones?

I have both the cushioned and uncushioned.

They retail for $155.00 and $160.00. I can't tell that much difference between the two. My sister rides in the cushioned and loves them. I love both of them.

I'm pretty sure Rockyroad has them on sale right now.

Yes, thank you NTO - the Nettles are on our Christmas sale!

The 2 most sold by us to barrel racers have been the Halfbreed - like NTO posted (they are a combo between a regular (Flatbottom) stirrups & an Oxbow) & their Flatbottoms.  They do have a slanted type one now too.  I have used the Flatbottoms for years now & just cannot ride in any other kind of stirrup.  I used to have the Walls Slanted to help my knees, but decided to try the Nettles - & I have not looked back!  The Nettles just make me feel all over more comfortable & the only explanation I have is that they are several layers of wood - so they "give", unlike the metal/aluminum ones.  I like the little extra width of the Halfbreeds too cuz I have had a fear of getting a foot hung up & I do not feel that way w/these at all.

Please feel free to msg or email me for any info.

While I have your attention...

Is it true that 5 star makes a pad specifically for treeless saddles?

yes, it's realitively  new.  This is what they say about it:
Our 100% WOOL 5 Star Treeless Saddle Pad is designed to contour to any wither height. The concept is the pad will contour to fit the horse's back to prevent the saddle from "rolling" which sometimes happens with treeless saddles. The open back line creates an airflow to help cool the horse. The pad also drops down below the rigging of a treeless saddle to help keep your horse more comfortable and saddle fitting properly.

And here is the link to pictures of them.
