I know we do this every year as soon as the first massive cold front rolls through....  I'm in South Texas and I am freezing....  they are even talking sleet for the weekend.  Can someone please post the recipe again.  I had it on my old phone, but it got lost somehow....

Thank you and stay warm!

I think that's it - thank you.  We usually add crispy bacon pieces to it too.  YUM.  1 million calories per spoon...  but who cares - it's so good.

The recipe was just listed on a thread today by TxDad.

So what is exactly is cold, I chopped ice before work at 7 degrees, not cold long enough in the day to hook up heaters yet.

I just make a big pot of anything frozen vegetable soup.

Left over any veggie partially used in the freezer.  Then cook 1 lb of hamburger, add spices, either rice, cooscoos or (homemade noodles at the very end) and let cook for around 3-4 hours.

Oh sorry - I missed that post.

And it is not nearly as cold as here as where you are, but for us it is prretty miserable.  With the wind chill it's about 27 degrees.  And it's a wet cold.  We are not used to this kind of weather - anything under 45 degrees and people around here have a problem.  Very thankful for the little bit of rain though.

I use the Cream of Chicken with Herbs, bacon and parsley. Just gives it a little something extra.

I made a lighter version and it still tastes great.
1 can Campbells Healthy Request Cream of Chicken Soup
2 cups low sodium Swanson Chicken broth (I like thick soup)
4 cups Oreida frozen Hashbrowns
1 cup chopped celery(I don't like onions)
4 slices Hormel center cut bacon -fried, blotted with papertowel and chopped into small pieces
4 oz Philedelphia 1/3 fat cream cheese - softened

I just cooked mine on the stovetop.
Add the first 5 ingredients to pot and bring to boil. Simmer on low until celery is tender (about 1/2 hour) Remove from heat and add cream cheese. Stir until dissolved.

This makes about four 1 1/4 cup servings.

This is 210 calories with 10 grams of fat per serving.
