Location: Williamsville, MO | I have only had this mare about a month and a few days ago a spot showed up on her chest, it had fluid on it and a small hole with blood and yellow drainage, i go to the vet and get antibiotics thinking she cut herself or ran something up in there. Now pretty much every day there is a new one on her neck or chest every day. It almost looks like something is working its way out of the skin??? I have made a vet appt but they cant see her till friday morning :( any ideas? parasite maybe? Thanks |

Location: Kansas | Herpes virus. What every is coming out on the outside is 100x that on the inside most generally! Whenever I have seen oozey sores I treat for herpes. Rhino or rhino vaccines can cause it. |

Which one? 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? Would they show a fever, runny nose (yellow discharge), etc.? |

| Pigeon fever, otherwise known as Dryland Distemper. The vet will know it when he/she sees it. Good luck...it can be icky. |

Location: Where I am happiest | Pigeon Fever presents itself as a huge abcess in the chest region usually. This doesnt sound like that unless the op is just leaving that part out. It could be herpes, or I'd say probably allergies to something your feeding, bedding , or tree's on your property. |
