I would really like a hat that stayed on my head with no pins, double stick tape, etc. I own a couple Charlie 1 Horses, Tony Lama, Wrangler and another brand I don't recall.

I've tried every trick out there. They blow right off the second I get going, unless I use 4 extra large bobby pins and a 3 inch strip of double stick tape on my forehead. I did the stampede string for awhile and not interested in keeping with that.

I think it's my head. None of my baseball caps stay on either - even with my ponytail through the hole in the back.

I probably can't afford a custom hat in the near future, but if I could, what would you recommend?

Jaxon built for sure, hands down.  Diane Guin had won one and recommended them to me.  It's a horribly long wait but oh so worth it.  This thing stays on my head no matter what, wind or not, no cramming, no headaches, feels awesome.  The one I ordered cost me right around 300 and I wouldn't hesitate to spend it again if I need to

im curious about it as well. I cant keep my hat on to save MY LIFE. i only started rodeoing a couple of years ago so wearing hats before that was not a biggie but the only thing that keeps it on is a bottle of hairspray, large bobby pins and double sided tape..for maybe half the run..SO ANNOYING!! im getting self concsious about my head!!!

Which style did you go with? Do you have any pics? I really want something that is soft and not heavy and rigid. My Charlie 1 Horse is very heavy and has no moldability.

I went with the absolute most simple/traditional style, all black.  Its rigid enough to hold it's shape yet soft enough to just be perfect.  I think mine was a 50x.  I'll see if I can find some pics.

Here are some pics.  They send you a kit to literally measuer your head with serious dummy proof instructions.  It has made me a tee total firm believer.  The hat slips on my head very easy, NOT TIGHT, and yet it stays put no matter what?  I'm definitely impressed.  I'm 33 years old, been rodeoing and racing since I was 11.  This is the first time I've ever owned a hat that fit so well.  I LOVE my last hat, only cause it was with me almost 20 years and won money, but I destroyed that thing trying to keep it on my head.  I want to say Jaxons wait is minimum 7 months, maybe more, but trust me, you will be glad you waited for it.

Here's a trick I learned....and I tried them ALL!! This is the only one that has worked for me! And it's EASY!!
Just pull the liner down in the back, and put the hat on. It like wedges onto your head and stays great!
No pins, no hairspray, no strings!!! Yay!
Of course, your hat must be the right size and not too big. When you pull the liner down, it makes it pretty tight, so I just do it right before I run and then take it off after and put the liner back in. Never had it come off yet!!
Try it!!

Greeley Hat Works, they do a great job. My hat has never come off, they fit it perfectly and are great to work with. Love mine, and may get another one at NFR.

Tried it. Didn't work. Seriously, I think the shape of my melon must be the underlying issue. I'm going to check out the companies mentioned.
