Location: Texas! | Well...went out to check on the horses one last time tonight, threw everyone another big flake of hay to top off what they had left. They of course were all fluffed up like teddy bears! Temp read as low as -36 degrees and I was using my iPhone as a flashlight and it ACTUALLY DIED OF HYPOTHERMIA!!!!! Holy cow!

Location: ND | Lovely isn't it.....our windchill is currently -30 & it's supposed to be WAY worse here by the end of the week. I have most of my ponies in the barn & the few that are outside have heavy blankets on & endless hay piled in their feeders......I'm so not ready for this weather already. |

Location: Central Montana | The temp in my car read -4 about an hour and a half ago, I don't know what we are at with the windchill. Friday the HIGH is supposed to be - 10.
I fed extra. Went and checked everyone and was going to blanket and the first one got annoyed while I was working on the straps so I took it off and went to the next one and he gave me a look that said he didn't want one either. Checked to make sure no one was acting or looking cold. The water heaters are running in the tanks, just have to make it until Monday, the high is supposed to be a whopping 19, it will be shorts and flip flop weather compared to this. |

Location: Utah | My gelding peaked his head through the stall door and grabbed his blanket. Fell asleep as I was buckling him up, and he got that extra flake of hay. We are a balmy -2 compared to what you are having. |

| Well hopefully its consistent...not like here. On Sunday it was 90 degrees, then it rained Monday, then yesterday it was hot, and now it's COLD (for San Diego standards, at least.) It's driving me nuts and a lot of horses are colicking...including one of mine who hasn't been acting right. Uggh!! Either be hot or cold...I can't stand this crap. |

| We are suppose to be -10 tonight I have been moving tank heaters to keep everyones water open the last two days, not enough electricity to keep one in all the tanks. I blanketed my broodies up since 3 of them moved her from Texas and aren't sure about the cold yet. I am hoping the wind doesn't pick up again like it did yesterday. Everyone got more to eat and I have to go check water again here in a bit. I am not ready for winter and they say we are suppose to be colder for longer than we have been in 40 yrs, Great just what I wanted to hear. I guess it could be worse we are still warm compared to some of you. |

Location: North Dakota | My phone is telling me it's 6 degrees here, not including the wind chill. I guess I'm a brave driver cause once I got off the HWY, the only sign of life on the way to the barn was a big tractor with a plow on it. Yay for my jeep! I brought each of the horses in the indoor and let them burn off some energy. I wasn't able to let them out of their pens for 6 DAYS cause of work and weather. Shimmer is fat and sassy and fluffy as a bear, but poor Buster is not growing a very good winter coat and despite plenty of hay and grain he's on the thin side. I do not believe in blanketing but I feel bad for him when it gets into the -'s. I LOVE snow, but when it gets into the single digits and lower, I have to remind myself that it could be in the 90's. YUCK. The weather should just stay between 20-70 degrees all the time. |

Location: You never know where I will show up...... | You get used to it, after awhile. And just have to dress for it. I spent all day outside riding young horses and doing chores. The wind chill was -19 when I went out after dinner but it was a warm 25 above in my arena lol. Hubby fed cows while I was riding and said that hardly any of them even came to eat. They are all out grazing in this cold. |
