Location: Texas | now I am sad :(. I found a picture of my mare Lucy at the Lufkin PRCA rodeo from 2012. I forgot I bought the picture. It brings up so much emotion. Lucy is in foal this year and I plan on legging her up after she foals (obviously giving her time to raise the baby) and I want to rodeo on her again. I have been thinking about our runs since 2011 and all the ups and downs.. the strained/torn suspensory, the EPM diagnosis that you can take for what you will (you know how that goes with titers and suspicions)β¦.she looks great feels great has been wonderful this year growing that foal..
But I keep looking back at all the mistakes I made, all MY RIDING errors. We would have won so much more money, placed at quite a few more pro rodeos had I not let her hit, or so many times where i let her step off here or there and we ended up 2 holes out of the money, the times where I changed her bit and were WAY MORE than 2 holes out (like seconds away!).. I just hope my riding has matured since 2011/2012 and that when we get back on, I WILL do HER justice. :( I hate feeling this way.

Did you read WrapSnaps thread a while ago about just going out and DOING it, not bringing past negativity with you?(Or basically that) That is a really good one to read and remember. I think I saved it and can send it if you want it.
Make 2014 your year!!

Peri??? Β looking forward to meeting her! Β
the other sorrel! I am waiting to ride Peri when my mom or sister comes home. Since she's 2, and it's cold, I don't want to ride her alone. I'm going to bring her with us to the barrel races this year. Are you going to Dawn's on Tuesday? I can bring your awards finally... |

I got on her today and took it easy with her. She is sound in the pasture and was sound when I rode her. I am going to set up an appointment next week to get an official OK to start legging her back up. I've been cleared to do minor stuff but would like to find out when she can start working again! |
