And she's correct......
Horses are livestock just like a cow. Our society has just "petified" them, and so we think it is "wrong" to eat them.
Personally, I'd rather see a horse go to slaughter than sit in a lot and starve to death because their owner was unable to afford their care.
Watch Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern... people eat all sorts of crazy schmidt.
The kindest thing we could do for horses headed for slaughter would be to legalize it, therefore putting regulations on it - as to treatment and practices. It is when we have to rely on foreign markets that we lose control for the conditions that these horses end up in. |

Completely agree! That being said make them worth good money! That's the best thing we can do for our horses in my opinion make them valuable. I know of people in my area that go get all the free horses off craigslist they can find and bring them straight to a killer buyer. Easy 300-400 a piece. Yes it is sad, but at least they will not be starving this winter. |

Depending on what you think about Acts 10, and Peter's vision. |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I don't condemn other people for it, if it's accepted in their culture. But personally, it just feels wrong, and it's not for me.
I accept that they are used in other products, though. When they are slaughtered under humane conditions.
What is wrong is to take an animal from someone who thinks you're keeping it as a pet and giving it a good home, then turning around and selling it to the killers.
